Highcliffe Castle is just over 2 miles away, while the picturesque Hurst Spit can be reached in around 3 miles, making both excellent destinations for a day out.

With the beach directly opposite and the New Forest National Park just inland, 3 The Dome is perfectly placed for exploring both coast and countryside. Begin in Barton-on-Sea, where clifftop paths, sweeping sea views and opportunities for fossil hunting make it easy to enjoy the outdoors without travelling far. Follow the coast towards Highcliffe and Christchurch, or head west to Milford-on-Sea, Keyhaven and Hurst Castle.
Nearby Lymington is ideal for a relaxed day out, with its historic quay, independent shops, cafés and popular Saturday market. From here, you can explore the coastline, take a boat trip or simply enjoy lunch overlooking the harbour.
Families can spend the day at Beaulieu’s National Motor Museum, visit the historic shipbuilding village of Buckler’s Hard or explore the seasonal displays and steam railway at Exbury Gardens. There are also plenty of beaches, nature reserves and dog-friendly walking routes nearby.
Venture inland and the New Forest offers miles of walking and cycling routes through ancient woodland, open heath and traditional villages. Brockenhurst, Burley, Beaulieu and Lyndhurst are all within easy reach, with welcoming pubs, local shops and plenty of opportunities to spot the famous free-roaming ponies.
