With the coast just moments from 3 The Dome, paddleboarding is a fantastic way to explore the waters between Keyhaven and Mudeford. By launching on the harbour side of Mudeford rather than the sea-facing coast, you can enjoy the more sheltered waters of Christchurch Harbour. The harbour is popular for paddleboarding and other water sports, with views towards Hengistbury Head, Mudeford Sandbank and Christchurch.
Mudeford can be particularly enjoyable for those looking for calmer water, although it is still tidal and conditions can change quickly. The entrance to Christchurch Harbour near Mudeford Quay (the Run) can experience much stronger currents, so it is important to stay within conditions suited to your ability and avoid fast-moving water if you are less experienced.
